Students will learn the basics of coil building and sgraffito. Sgraffito is one of the oldest pottery techniques for designing and decorating ceramic pieces. This process involves carving designs and patterns into the clay using a variety of tools. These techniques are unique due to the handmade nature of the technique and the variations it creates. In addition to sgraffito, students will also learn to glaze their own pieces.
