Fall Prints Relief Printmaking

In this class, you will learn the basics of relief printmaking. Students will experiment with the printmaking process by carving and inking their own block using relief gouges. They will create an edition of their own prints which they will be able to take home. Students can also have the opportunity to use an etching press and print by hand. We will be creating fall themed prints!

-Must be comfortable using carving tools

Printmaking Open Studio 

Join us for flexible open studio printmaking experience! Designed for experienced printmakers, these sessions allow you to work independently in our fully equipped print studio.

Requirements:

Must be 18 or older

Prior experience in a print studio OR completion of a Peoria Art Guild printmaking class

Familiarity with printshop equipment and clean-up procedures

An experienced printmaking monitor will be on-site to assist with questions.

$10 per session covers materials like ink, paper, and studio access.

Walk-ins are welcome, but pre-registration through the Peoria Art Guild Website is encouraged.

Intro to Sewing Machines for Kids

Instructor: Ashlie Geiger

Learn the basics of sewing machines- how to thread a machine, various stitches and will complete a small project to take home.

Age Group: 10-15

Beginner Photography

Instructor: Dean Poignant

Department: Photography

This 6-week beginner photography course is designed to give participants a strong foundation in essential photography concepts and techniques. Each session includes a mix of instruction and hands-on practice, with the first hour focused on learning and applying new skills. The final 30 minutes are dedicated to image review and group discussion, creating a supportive space for constructive feedback and shared insights.

Participants will learn to confidently operate their cameras and explore key principles such as composition, exposure, and lighting. The course encourages creativity through experimentation, helping students develop both technical ability and artistic vision.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to take technically sound photographs, understand basic photographic terminology, and begin expressing their creative ideas through imagery. In addition to building skills, students will become part of a collaborative community where they can continue to grow and learn from one another.

Ages 18 and up

Kids Clay Handbuilding at the Shoppes at Grand Prairie

Instructor: Marie Lindahl

Department: Kids

Students will learn how to mold pieces of ceramic clay to make a variety of pottery sculptures. For three weeks we will create multiple pieces using simple tools, clay and water. The final week students will get to paint the pieces with underglaze. Projects will then be fired to be picked up at a later date.
