Relief Printmaking
with Angela Risinger
In this class, students will learn the basics of relief carving and printing using blocks and relief gouges. Students will see examples of various works from different artists, experiment with carving and inking a block, and create an edition of their own prints. They will also have the chance to use an etching press and work in a print studio.
Must be comfortable using sharp carving tools and standing for some periods of time.
All materials are provided by the Peoria Art Guild.
Sgraffito Vase 4-Week Series

Students will learn the basics of coil building and sgraffito techniques to create a vase.
Sgraffito is one of the pottery techniques for designing and decorating ceramic pieces. This process involves carving designs and patterns into the clay using a variety of tools. These techniques are unique due to the handmade nature of the technique and the variations it creates.
In addition to sgraffito, students will also learn to glaze their own pieces.
Teen Letterpress Posters

Make something to say? Make it a poster!
This letterpress class will go through the basics of typesetting in large forms to make posters.

Youth Ceramic Scuplture: Nature Forms

Ages: 11 - 17
This 3-week class offers an organic and easy-going introduction to the world of ceramic clay and texture. Every session will begin with a demonstration of fundamental skills and will be followed by guided studio time for students to harness their craft. Students are given the space to experiment with found objects and texture while learning essential clay sculpture techniques. This class is perfect for beginners to clay or those interested in creating a sculpture form.

Multi-Color Relief Print

In this class, you will learn the printmaking process of reduction linocut. We will go over the basics of relief carving, such as using relief gouges and mixing ink.
The reduction method is a relief printmaking technique for making multi-color prints that have several layers.
Students will see examples of various works from different artists, experiment with carving and inking a block, and create an edition of their own prints. They will also have the chance to use an etching press and work in a print studio.
Youth Relief Printmaking
with Krin Bradbury Peoples
Ages: 11 - 17
Join us for this 3-week relief printmaking class!
Students will make their very own relief carving to create a three-color repeating print.
