In this workshop, you will learn the basics of relief carving and printing using blocks and relief gouges. Students will see examples of various works from different artists, experiment with carving and inking a block, and create an edition of their own prints. Students will also have the chance to use an etching press and work in a professional print studio.

Must be comfortable using sharp tools and standing for some periods of time.
All supplies are provided by the Peoria Art Guild.

Come explore painting with a palette knife! We will start with simple landscapes, and you will learn how to block in shapes and mix paint for that beautiful sky with maybe a few clouds. From distant mountains to foreground color will be the key. You can be as abstract (loose) as you feel comfortable or detailed (tight) if that is your style. No previous experience necessary, and as easy as spreading butter.
