Embroidery Stitch Book

Learn to embroider and make a book of your creative stitches. In each class you will learn new stitches and techniques. All materials will be provided, including a page for stitching, embroidery floss and a needle.

Class 1: Pretty Paths: Lovely Lines: Stitches include chain, satin, running, and blanket stitch.

Class 2: Flora and Fauna: Circles, leaves, French knots and bullion stitch.

Class 3: Birds of a Feather: Applique with felt, feather stitch, edge stitches.

Thursday evenings 6:00-8:00 pm

Palette Knife Painting

Instructor: Laurie Moore

Department: 2D

Come explore painting with a palette knife! We will start with simple landscapes and you will learn how to block in shapes and mix paint for that beautiful sky with maybe a few clouds. From distant mountains to foreground color will be the key. You can be as abstract (loose) as you feel comfortable or detailed (tight) if that is your style. No previous experience necessary and as easy as spreading butter.

Alice in Wonderland Mixed Media Collage

Join us for a whimsical, mixed-media collage Alice in Wonderland-themed workshop! Using a wooden board as your canvas, you’ll bring your own version of Wonderland to life with fabric, pictures, quotes, and a variety of fun embellishments.

All materials are provided, and no experience is needed. Each collage will be completely unique, just like your imagination!

Fall Prints Relief Printmaking

Instructor: Angela Risinger

Department: Printmaking

In this class, you will learn the basics of relief printmaking. Students will experiment with the printmaking process by carving and inking their own block using relief gouges. They will create an edition of their own prints which they will be able to take home. Students can also have the opportunity to use an etching press and print by hand. We will be creating fall themed prints!

-Must be comfortable using carving tools

Beginner Photography

Instructor: Dean Poignant

Department: Photography

This 6-week beginner photography course is designed to give participants a strong foundation in essential photography concepts and techniques. Each session includes a mix of instruction and hands-on practice, with the first hour focused on learning and applying new skills. The final 30 minutes are dedicated to image review and group discussion, creating a supportive space for constructive feedback and shared insights.

Participants will learn to confidently operate their cameras and explore key principles such as composition, exposure, and lighting. The course encourages creativity through experimentation, helping students develop both technical ability and artistic vision.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to take technically sound photographs, understand basic photographic terminology, and begin expressing their creative ideas through imagery. In addition to building skills, students will become part of a collaborative community where they can continue to grow and learn from one another.
