Basic Drawing for Adults at the Shoppes at Grand Prairie

In this beginner drawing class, we will be covering how to draw what we see by understanding how to build from shapes while also measuring. We will mostly be doing still-lifes so we can learn how to render shadows and get various tones out of an object with just graphite. The basics of both one point and two-point perspective will be taught so we can create minor illustrations set to a fun prompt in order to flex our creativity. Along the way, we will also cover the basics of the figure. By the end of the course, I hope the artist in attendance can more comfortably draw things that they both see with their eyes, and in their head!

Watercolor Portraits

Instructor: Marissa Justiniano

Department: 2D

In this beginner portrait class, you learn the basics of drawing a full head whilst refining your watercolor skill. Throughout the course of six weeks, you will do introductory to advanced facial drawing lessons, and break down how to paint various skin tones and facial features. By the last day of class, you should feel comfortable painting and drawing portraits of many ages, races, and looks.
